Casual Disability Support Worker

Prosper Care and Support is seeking dedicated, passionate Disability Support Workers to join our team on a casual basis. We are looking for individuals who have experience supporting participants with complex needs, particularly mental health and psychosocial disabilities.
About the Role
You will be providing person-centred, trauma-informed support to participants with complex presentations. This role requires strong emotional intelligence, clear boundaries, and the ability to respond calmly and professionally in challenging situations.
Supports may include:
* Assistance with daily living and community access
* Emotional and behavioural support
* Supporting mental health recovery and regulation
* Implementing behaviour support strategies
* Building independence, safety, and confidence
* Accurate documentation and reporting
Essential Criteria
* Experience working with participants with mental health and/or psychosocial disabilities
* Ability to work with complex behaviours
* Strong communication and de-escalation skills
* Empathy, patience, and professionalism
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Current NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain)
* Working With Children Check (if applicable)
* First Aid & CPR
* Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle
Desirable (but not essential)
* Certificate III or IV in Disability, Mental Health, or Community Services
* Experience with trauma-informed care
* Understanding of the NDIS and participant rights
