Join Swinburne University as the Associate Director, Estate and Space Planning, where you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our campuses. This dynamic position is designed for a strategic thinker with a passion for sustainable development and innovative space management. You will lead a dedicated team responsible for optimizing the University's estate across three campuses, ensuring that our facilities not only meet current needs but also anticipate future demands.

In this role, you will collaborate with various stakeholders to develop comprehensive frameworks that enhance our work environment and culture. Your expertise will be crucial in supporting capital infrastructure programs and addressing the associated space planning requirements, making a significant impact on the University's operational efficiency.

About You

  • Relevant qualified background and extensive experience in leading and managing strategic space management, property/asset management and/or major capital programs in a complex estate environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role and in an organisation of similar size and complexity.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyse complex estate and property data and accurately present space management outcomes and recommendations.
  • Proven influencing and negotiating skills and the ability to deal with ambiguity.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the capacity to manage the expectations and interests of competing internal and external stakeholders. This includes excellent written skills, and the ability to engage with a wide range of audiences in written and oral skills.

Qualifications

Degree (and/or postgrad) or professional institute qualifications in Architecture, Urban Planning, Design or similar discipline or an equivalent combination of extensive relevant experience and/or education/training.
