Electrical Engineer - Renewable Energy

We have established a strong presence in the Australian renewable energy sector with a current operating portfolio of over 800MW of solar and wind capacity across Australia. Construction is underway on a further approximate 300MW of capacity.
About This Role
This role will lead the electrical design and delivery of renewable power projects across Australia. From feasibility studies to commissioning, you'll manage HV/MV/LV system design, oversee contractors, ensure compliance with AS/IEC/IEEE/ANSI standards, and coordinate with suppliers for optimal equipment selection.
Main Responsibilities:
* Conduct Due Diligences, Feasibility Studies, Design for Grid Connection and Approvals, and Detailed Design (drawings, ITPs, studies, reports) for renewable power plants.
* Prepare Technical Specifications for the design of High Voltage/Medium Voltage/Low Voltage Systems and procurement of parts.
* Engage third party engineers or external design services, ensuring full compliance with GPS, technical specifications, standards and codes.
* Select optimal equipment for site and specific GPS or DA requirements, coordinating with suppliers/manufacturers and contractors as necessary.
* Review technical specifications, models, layouts and designs relevant to AS, IEC, IEEE, ANSI, and other applicable industry standards.
* Attend design reviews meetings with Design Contractor, Supplier and Consultant.
* Provide engineering support to safety in design, energisation, system commissioning and R2 testing, and perform site inspection during the construction phase of projects.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will require:
* Bachelor's degree qualifications in Electrical Engineering.
* 5 years or more of experience in design and construction of power plants, substations.
* Experience working on multiple projects across Australia that contain large scale renewable energy generation (Solar Farms, Wind Farms, Battery Energy Storage Systems etc.).
* Experience performing design activities with other members of multi-disciplined project team.
