Job Overview
MedicalJobsAustralia.com invites an experienced and strategic clinical leader to shape the future of regional health delivery in one of Queensland's most rapidly developing areas as Executive Director Medical Services. The role is based at Rockhampton Hospital, the region's major referral hospital, and requires a commitment to enhancing the quality and sustainability of medical services across our network of more than 20 facilities.
Responsibilities
Provide medical leadership to a workforce of over 458 FTE across the regional and remote network.
Lead a sustainable medical workforce by overseeing recruitment, training, and education functions.
Build and nurture internal and external partnerships with hospital and health services, the Department of Health, primary care networks, and the private sector.
Participate in the Senior Medical/DMS on-call roster and comply with credentialing processes, including scope of clinical practice reviews every three years.
Ensure ongoing compliance with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority (AHPRA) requirements.
Qualifications
MBBS or equivalent for AHPRA registration.
Fellowship with an Australian Medical Specialist College (mandatory).
FRACMA desirable but not mandatory.
Capability to practice clinically (0.2 FTE) in a recognised specialty with Central Queensland Health.
Current Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification.
Active enrolment in an ongoing Continuing Medical Education (CME) program.
Benefits
Total package up to $543,581 p.a.
Medical Manager's Allowance / Clinical Manager's Allowance payable based on qualifications.
Professional Development Leave – 3.6 weeks p.a.
Professional Development Allowance – $21,500 p.a.
Communications Package, Motor Vehicle Allowance.
Attraction and Retention Allowance – up to 50% of base salary, dependent on qualifications, and provision of private practice arrangements.
