St Edmund's College is a Catholic boys' day school in the Edmund Rice Tradition with a holistic approach to education, focusing on values education, personal development, pastoral care, sports and cultural activities. The College caters for students from the local Ipswich and surrounding area and has a total enrolment of approximately 1200 students in Years 5 to 12. The College is a member of the Associated Independent Colleges (AIC).

St Edmund's College is seeking an enthusiastic and suitably experienced applicant to undertake the role of Athletic Development & Sports Coordinator within the Activities Team commencing in January/February 2026 (negotiable). This is a hands-on role for someone who is passionate about providing boys with positive experiences in sport and physical activity.

* 38 hours per week, full time, continuing
* School Officer Level 4 classification as outlined in the current Catholic Employing Authorities Enterprise Agreement with final salary based upon experience and qualifications
* Ordinary workdays during Terms 1 - 3 will be Tuesday to Saturday (Saturday hours will incur penalty rates) and Monday to Friday during Term 4 and School Holiday periods
* Specific times of work on each day will be negotiated in conjunction with the Director of Sport and the Assistant Principal Activities in accordance with the Catholic Employing Authorities Enterprise Agreement (EB10) parameters
* Should the role require outside normal hours a Flexible Working Agreement must be completed and signed by the Employer and Employee to establish arrangements for this work
* A six-month probationary period applies
* Suitable applicants may be interviewed upon receipt of application and appointment made prior to the closing date

Selection Criteria

Every member of our team plays an integral role in ensuring excellence in education. Through your letter of application and resume, please respond to the selection criteria below.

Essential Technical Skills

* Level 1, ASCA Accreditation in Strength and Conditioning (Level 2 desirable)
* Coaching expertise and accreditations in multiple AIC sports (or willingness to obtain accreditations)
* Experience in school sport or sporting organisation setting
* Current First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
* Light Rigid (LR) Bus Licence (or willingness to obtain)
* Blue Card

Administration Skills

* Demonstrated strong administration skills, having the ability to work autonomously with minimum supervision
* Demonstrated strong time management and organisational skills with the ability to work well under pressure
* Ability to meet deadlines and respond rapidly to change
* Computer skills in Microsoft applications (and willingness to learn)

People Oriented Skills and Attributes

* Commitment to the philosophy and aims of Edmund Rice Education Australia and its legal, moral and ethical obligations
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills – both oral and written - ability to relate well on phone and in person to parents, students and employees at all levels
* Commitment to meet quality standards and willingness to update skills
* Demonstrated commitment to the pastoral care of students
* Ability to work in a team environment

Safeguarding

This position works directly with children and young people on a daily basis and therefore applicants must be able to demonstrate an understanding of appropriate child safeguarding behaviours when engaging with children. All young people are owed a duty of care while in the supervision of this position.

Position Details

Salary is classified in accordance with the School Officer Level 4 classification as outlined within the current Catholic Employing Authorities Enterprise Agreement plus penalty rates for Saturday work. Opportunities may also exist for additional payment via the volunteer co-curricular program.
