We have an exciting opportunity for a senior safety professional to support and lead workplace health and safety (WHS) initiatives across Opal Group NSW sites. The role provides practical support, coaching, and guidance to implement the 'One Opal' Health and Safety Management System, ensure compliance with Opal Safety Standards, and manage injury rehabilitation for workers' compensation, wage insurance, and income protection claims.
The key focus of this role will be to:
* Support and coach site's in applying early intervention claims management strategies and provide ad hoc advice and direction (troubleshooting)
* Undertake RTW coordination (RTWC)activities and act as both RTWC and Injury Manager for Opal as and where required
* Provide clinical expertise, monitor and drive the integrity of medical information as it relates to claims
* Ensuring compliance to regulatory framework (Safe Work NSW)
* Preparation and lead in ISO 45001 and other third party audits

For this role we would ideally like you to have:
* Several years' experience in Claims or Injury Management/Rehabilitation, and Safety in a manufacturing or industrial setting
* Tertiary qualification in a relevant field with mandatory certification in Workplace Health & Safety
* Solid understanding of Workers Compensation legislation and WHS/OH&S Acts
* Experienced in accident investigation methods e.g. ICAM
* Strong communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills across all levels
* Committed to continuous improvement, innovation, and driving change
