About the Positions
We are actively seeking multi-skilled Leading Hands to join our teams at the Gregory or Jellinbah mine sites!
Reporting to the Site Supervisor, you will join our established team either at the Gregory or Jellinbah mine, working a 7/7 day shift only (12hr) roster.
If you are eager to develop into a Site Supervisor down the track, this is the perfect opportunity for you!
Core accountabilities include:
- Act as a senior member and mentor of the team
- Safe and efficient surface shotfiring operations
- Safe and effective operation of our Mobile Processing Units (MPUs)
- Identify and plan opportunities for improvement
- Carry out pre-starts
- Regularly carry out workplace Take 5’s
- Attend toolbox discussions, and lead as required
- Relief supervisor duties as required
- Contribute to a respectful and inclusive work setting
About you
• Demonstrated leadership skills
• Experience in operating MPU’s and shotfiring operations in an open cut environment essential
• Experience using both Non-Electric and Electronic Blasting Systems (desirable)
• Extensive experience working in the drill & blast industry
• Unwavering commitment to safety and efficiency
• Ability to work well within a team and unsupervised
• Excellent organisation and time management
• Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills
What you need
• Current HR driver's licence
• QLD Shotfirer’s ticket
• QLD Security Clearance for handling explosives (or willing to obtain)
• Current QLD Coal Board Medical (or willing to obtain)
• Standard 11 (or willing to obtain)
• Relevant RII competencies (RIIBLA201A & RIIBLA203A) highly regarded
• Supervisor training (S1, S2 & S3)
• G2 Implementation of Risk Management (or willing to obtain)
