Title: Resources Coordinator (full-time -month fixed term contract)

Overview of Role:
ILSC Education Group is one of Australia’s largest and fastest-growing language schools, known for the quality, rigour and variety of programs that are tailored to best meet international student needs and interests. ILSC Programs include General English, English for Academic Purposes, IELTS Preparation, Cambridge Preparation, and a variety of engaging Elective classes.
As full-time teachers, Resources Coordinators play a crucial role in engaging ILSC students in their English language studies, ensuring best practice in L&T methodologies, classroom management, assessment, and use of educational technology; being a successful mediator between a descriptive curriculum and student goals and needs; supporting student academic progress and student satisfaction; ensuring academic integrity at all times; working collaboratively and constructively within the teaching and broader teams; completing all administrative and reporting tasks as required; and adhering to relevant ILSC Policies and Procedures.
Resources Coordinators will represent ILSC’s core values internally and externally, upholding a collaborative and supportive staffroom ethos, and participating actively in sector Communities of Practice and Special Interest Groups.
Resources Coordinators are supported by the ILSC Head Teachers, report to the campus Director of Studies, and are engaged under the terms of The National Employment Standards (NES) and the Educational Services (Post-Secondary Education) Award .
Job Duties
The Teacher duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following tasks:
1. Teach a variety of multimodal (face-to-face, online, and/or hybrid) ELICOS classes (teaching roster and total weekly hours to vary based on operational need)
2. Work collaboratively with ILSC Head Teachers and other ILSC Teachers
3. Prepare and upload clear lesson plans prior to each lesson
4. Perform periodical analyses of student goals and needs against set learning outcomes
5. Embrace a principled communicative methodological approach
6. Engage students in their learning through a student-centred teaching philosophy
7. Enhance classroom learning and teaching by implementing new resources and technologies
8. Provide students with regular formative feedback including writing tasks and summative academic progress reports in accordance with ILSC guidelines
9. Be alert to and escalate student welfare concerns as appropriate
10. Complete all teaching-related admin accurately and within required deadlines
11. Attend and actively participate in Session Meetings & Professional Development Sessions
12. Actively contribute to ILSC’s positive learning ethos and inclusive, collegiate staffroom culture
13. Commit to reflective practice (self/peer observations, engaging with ELT literature and trends)
14. Participate in and represent ILSC in SIGs and CoPs
15. Other related duties or projects as determined by the campus Director of Studies
The Resources Coordinator duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following tasks:
16. Collaborate with Resources Coordinators across all national campuses to discuss resources and materials needs
17. Guide teachers in resources and materials choices and needs to best support syllabus requirements and learning outcomes
18. Liaise with Global Curriculum Team and assist with relevant projects as required
19. Ensure teachers have access to current Curriculum Hub links and documents
20. Collaborate with national ELICOS Admin Team and campus Reception Team to discuss materials and resources needs, including books, eBooks, and teaching stationery
21. Ensure teacher resource room is well maintained, that all resources are well ordered, and follow up with any missing or required resources, materials and teaching stationery
22. Ensure ILSC classrooms are well maintained, that all classroom tech is functioning, that all classroom posters are relevant and standardised, and that all classroom requirements are reported/escalated
23. Meet with ELT publishing house reps and explore ELT literature to identify and recommend new/relevant ELT resources and materials to Faculty and Curriculum Teams as appropriate
24. Stay abreast of online resources, websites and EdTech tools to identify and recommend to Faculty and Curriculum Teams as appropriate
25. Connect with industry colleagues beyond ILSC to identify current usage and best practice in ELT publications and materials development
26. Participate actively in relevant industry opportunities ( writing materials reviews for the English Australia Journal, IATFEL Voices and other relevant ELT publications; participating and/or presenting at national and international conferences)
Key Selection Criteria
Education and Experience
27. Recognised Bachelor’s degree(or equivalent)
28. Cambridge CELTA or Cert IV TESOL (or equivalent)
29. Excellent understanding of TESOL methodology, programs, and assessment practices
30. Experience with online learning management systems and multimodal delivery
31. Experience in curriculum and material design (desirable)
32. Demonstrated focus on continuous professional development(English Australia CPD Framework and NEAS CPD Points highly regarded)
