About The JobLocation – Illawong, NSWJob Type – Full timeJob Position – Maintenance OfficerPosition Close Date – 19 October 2025We are looking for a dedicated maintenance officer that can make a real difference at our Aeralife Illawong home.At Aeralife Illawong, you'll work in an intimate home nestled amid vibrant greenery, perfect for nature enthusiasts.

Join our team and be part of a supportive environment that embraces nature and fosters a serene, enriching experience for both residents and staff.In This Role You WillConduct site audits, including quality and risk assessments of the home every 3 months.Carry out minor repairs and maintenanceEnsure all passive and active fire systems are maintained.Purchase of supplies and materials through the General Manager's delegation and ensure all tax receipts and invoices are provided and submitted promptly for reconciliationReview respective Asbestos Registers annually as per statutory requirementsEnsure all tools and equipment are in good and safe working orderEnsure tools, equipment and any chemicals used to complete your tasks are monitored for resident safety at all times.Maintain an understanding of Workplace Health and Safety and ensure all obligations are metEnsuring a current a comprehensive equipment index and maintenance audit system linked to appropriate standards supported by written specifications including assessing tool/ equipment standards are met and reviewed annuallyReview and report any building damage to Maintenance ManagerMaintain an asset and condemned property register across Heritage CareTrial and evaluate new plant and equipment prior to purchaseProvide assistance to induct contractors and complete associated paperwork as requiredAssist with room set up to ensure rooms are in excellent condition prior to resident admissionTest and tag all electrical equipment as per legislationWhat You Bring To The RoleDemonstrated relevant work experience in a similar role, preferably possessing a certificate in building work such as carpentry or joineryThe ability and competency to use a wide range of equipment and tools.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral) appropriate to work within a culturally diverse aged care environmentStrong organisational skills with demonstrated ability to prioritise competing tasks, meet deadlines and work under pressureAbility to use a computer and relevant softwareAn understanding of and commitment to compliance of OH&S; legislative requirementsCurrent NDIS Workers Screening CheckAbout UsAs a proudly Australian and independently owned provider with over 20 years of experience, Aeralife specialise in premium residential aged care.
