Join a busy and supportive Ophthalmology Department where your leadership, organisation and people skills will help keep critical healthcare services running smoothly. This is an exciting opportunity to supervise an administration team while supporting senior nursing staff in a fast‐paced hospital environment.

About This Role

As the Office Manager within the Ophthalmology Department, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth day‐to‐day operation of the unit while supporting nursing leadership and supervising administration staff. Working in a fast‐paced healthcare environment, you'll coordinate workflows, manage rostering processes and help maintain exceptional service delivery standards for both patients and staff.

Key Responsibilities
* Leadership and supervision of the administration team, support staff performance, development and daily operations
* Coordination of nursing rosters, leave management, payroll support and workforce administration processes
* High‐level administrative and secretarial support to the Nurse Unit Manager and wider clinical team
* The central point of contact for departmental communication, customer enquiries and operational coordination
About You

You are an organised and proactive administration professional with strong leadership capability and a commitment to delivering high‐quality customer service. You enjoy working collaboratively, managing competing priorities and supporting teams in a healthcare environment.

Qualifications
* Previous experience supervising or coordinating administrative teams
* Strong organisational, rostering and workforce coordination skills
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
* Ability to work autonomously, solve problems and manage competing deadlines

About Us

The Princess Alexandra Hospital (PAH) is a tertiary health care centre providing care in most major adult specialties. We provide world‐class health care to Brisbane City's southern suburbs across emergency, medical, mental health and surgical services, including liver and kidney transplant.

We are nationally recognised for our expertise in trauma management and organ transplants and are one of Australia's leading academic and research health centres. The PAH hosts Australia's most advanced medical research facility, the Translational Research Institute (TRI), as well as a new Clinical Research Facility to trial discoveries made at TRI in a safe clinical environment. We're expanding our hospital to make sure everyone gets the care they need. We're adding more beds, modernising our buildings, and improving our spaces to treat kidney and cancer patients with all new services and facilities planned to open by 2027.
