Job Description
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage the state transport team to achieve performance targets.
* Oversee fleet operations, scheduling, and resource planning to ensure timely service delivery.
* Maintain safety and compliance standards in line with NHVR, CoR, and OHS regulations.
* Monitor and control operational budgets, driving cost efficiencies and financial performance.
* Foster strong customer relationships and manage service level agreements (SLAs).
* Liaise with internal departments to align operational goals and ensure effective communication.
* Promote a culture of continuous improvement, safety, and teamwork.
* Oversee staffing requirements, including recruitment, training, and performance management.
* Manage contractor performance and ensure adherence to company procedures.
* Maintain accurate warehouse stock control and ensure proper maintenance of equipment.
Qualifications
Qualifications
* Proven leadership experience in transport operations.
* Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
* Demonstrated ability to drive performance and implement process improvements.
* Financial acumen with experience managing budgets and operational costs.
* Experience in the freight forwarding or logistics industry preferred.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) and operational systems such as Power BI.
* Diploma in Leadership and Management (or willingness to undertake)
* Experience managing teams.
* Ability to work in fast paced environment.
* Strong safety mindset.
