About the role
Lumus Imaging is looking for a professional Medical Receptionist to join our friendly team at Knox Private Hospital. This is a full-time, permanent position and a fantastic opportunity to build your career in medical administration.
As the first point of contact for our patients, you will play a vital role in delivering an exceptional patient experience from the moment they walk through the door.
Shift times are 8 hours between 6am - 10pm
Key responsibilities
* Greet and check in patients in a professional and welcoming manner
* Manage appointment bookings, cancellations and scheduling via practice management software
* Process referrals, verify patient details and confirm Medicare and private health fund information
* Answer incoming calls, respond to patient enquiries and liaise with referrers and clinical staff
* Accurate data entry and maintenance of patient records
* Process payments and issue receipts including Medicare and private health fund billing
* Be able to work shifts ranging from 6:30am-10pm - able to work flexible shift including afternoons and weekends
Skills and experience
* Previous experience in a medical or specialist reception role is highly regarded
* Knowledge of Medicare billing, DVA and private health fund processes
* Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with a patient-first attitude
* Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities
