About The Role
Join the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) team at John Hunter Children's Hospital, NSW's third tertiary-level paediatric facility, located in the vibrant coastal city of Newcastle.
The NICU provides comprehensive medical and surgical care for sick and preterm infants and their families from across the Hunter New England, Mid North Coast, and Northern NSW regions.
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Clinical Nurse Educator to join our dedicated NICU education team.
In this role, you will be responsible for the development, implementation, delivery, and evaluation of education programs that support clinical excellence in neonatal nursing. You will work closely with:
* New staff, supporting their transition into neonatal nursing practice
* Experienced clinicians, promoting ongoing professional development and advanced practice
* Multidisciplinary teams, ensuring the delivery of evidence-based care and improved patient outcomes
You will join a dynamic group of educators and will be supported by the NICU Nurse Educator and the Manager of Newborn Services. Comprehensive orientation and education to the role will be provided.
Facility & Future Development
The NICU is preparing for an exciting transition into a brand‐new, purpose-built unit as part of the John Hunter Health and Innovation Precinct, a major redevelopment that will expand clinical capacity and introduce cutting‐edge facilities.
The precinct also strengthens collaboration with University of Newcastle, providing strong links to research, innovation, and education.

Qualifications
* Extensive clinical experience in neonatal nursing
* A strong understanding of tertiary NICU operations
* Demonstrated ability to educate, mentor, and support nursing staff
* Knowledge or qualifications in adult learning principles
* A commitment to evidence-based clinical practice
* Excellent communication, leadership, and problem‐solving skills
