We're seeking locals who are interested in road safety systems, work health and safety procedures and how to report road safety hazards. Our Operators are skilled and trained to work alone in an enforcement vehicle that links to a control centre. It is a physical role with unusual hours and early and late starts, you'll work a 24/7 rotating roster including nights and weekends. In The Role You Will Fully adhere to all road rules and demonstrate safe driving behaviour at all times Perform a risk assessment of the site before each enforcement session and report sites that are unusable, taking photos when requiredCoordinate with the control room for camera set up and testing before session commencementRemain alert and attentive during an enforcement session, and maintain regular communications with the control room throughout the shiftAdhere to standard operating procedures in responding to angry or aggressive behaviourPerform pre- and post-shift vehicle inspections Pay rates Full Time Trainee Full-Time Mobile Speed Camera Operators are paid $27.16 an hour for ordinary hours. Your ordinary hourly rate will increase to the operator rate of $29.64 an hour once you pass the competency assessment (from the 3–6 months anniversary of employment). Casual Trainee Casual Mobile Speed Camera Operators are paid $33.95 an hour for ordinary hours. Your ordinary hourly rate will increase to the operator rate of $37.05 an hour once you pass the competency assessment (from the 3–6 months anniversary of employment).
