This is a permanent full-time position commencing as soon as possible
Education Business Services (EBS) delivers specialist business and financial services that support schools and central services across the Department of Education.
The Financial Planning and Resourcing Directorate leads corporate budget management, school resourcing, cost and demand modelling, management reporting and the annual budget process, providing strategic advice to senior leadership.
The Role
The Manager, Budget Management and Analysis leads the Department's corporate budget management and performance reporting functions. You will drive accurate forecasting and active budget management across corporate programs, identifying risks early and supporting timely decision-making.
In this role, you will provide strategic, high-level advice to senior leaders on budget formulation, projected outcomes and required adjustments, and work closely with program managers and key stakeholders to strengthen financial governance and accountability.
You will oversee management reporting and analysis, including budget performance reporting, cash and accrual budget management, FTE reporting and support for capital works budget reporting. You will also lead a high-performing team, build capability and deliver continuous improvement initiatives that enhance reporting quality, processes and data integrity, while ensuring compliance with relevant financial legislation and requirements.

Eligibility
To work in this role, you must:
* hold a tertiary qualification in an accounting or related discipline and eligibility for membership of a professional accounting body
* be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment.
* consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education's Screening Unit before you start.
* obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check
