The Opportunity
The Commercial Manager is critical role within the Project Controls team, leading Project Controls across the Alliance package of works and reports into the Project Manager. You will oversee the Cost Control, Procurement and Contracts and Finance Administration functions to ensure strong governance, adherence to procurement, contracting and financial processes and delegations of authority. This involves cost planning, accurate daily cost capture, detailed quantity-based cost forecasting, subcontractor payments and variations, head contract progress claims and incremental revenue management including scope variations.
Responsibilities
Full compliance with commercial procedures and usage of tools and systems to ensure transparent, timely and accurate cost tracking and reporting to inform timely, decisive, and positive actions in the management of project costs.
Managing Revenue and Cost Control processes and monitoring financial performance of the Work Package including upstream adjustment events and scope variations, downstream variations, actual/invoiced costs, accruals, and forecasts to complete.
Lead the Procurement and Contracts team and processes.
Cost planning, accurate daily cost capture, detailed quantity-based cost forecasting (and earned value management), subcontractor payments and variations
Head contract progress claims and incremental revenue management including scope variations, adjustment events and KRAs (Key Result Areas), insurance claims, escalation, risk and opportunity and contingency management.
Requried skills and competencies
Tertiary Qualified in Construction Management, Commerce, Finance, Legal, Civil Engineering or similar.
Minimum 8 years demonstrated experience in senior cost forecasting and control with significant commercial experience and accountability
Exposure and understanding of an Alliance model highly desirable but NOT essential.
Previous experience in a complex project environment.
