We’re currently seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate Senior Disability Support Worker to join our team. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact, fostering emotional growth, confidence, and independence in a safe, nurturing environment.
About the role
As a Senior Disability Support Worker, you will provide Supported Independent Living services that empower individuals with disabilities to thrive in their daily lives. This includes assistance with personal care, meal preparation, and helping participants build meaningful routines, structure, and healthy habits. You’ll play a key role in fostering emotional and psychological growth, boosting confidence, self-esteem, and communication skills, while ensuring participants feel supported both at home and in their communities.
Key accountabilities:

* Help build and maintain routines
* Encourage community participation
* Support the development of independent living skills

We have a variety of roster options available, including active overnights.

What we are looking for
* Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Disability Support Worker, including direct work in Supported Independent Living (SIL) homes.
* Proven experience supporting participants with complex mental health needs, including high-intensity support and physical or behavioural complexities.
* Skilled in managing challenging behaviours with a trauma-informed and person-centred approach.
* Comfortable working in dynamic environments requiring quick decision-making, emotional resilience, and strong communication skills.
* Committed to promoting independence, dignity, and quality of life for individuals with diverse support needs.
Required Certifications
* NDIS Screening/Yellow Card
* First Aid and CPR Certificate
* Driver’s licence
* Reliable vehicle with comprehensive car insurance
Desirable (but not mandatory)
* Cert IV in mental health or equivalent
* Maybo Training – Positive Behaviour Support or similar

* Ability to coordinate daily routines and household tasks effectively
* Proactive and solutions-focused, with the ability to anticipate needs (e.g. groceries, supplies
