Casual Cook / Kitchen Assistant – Summer Position

About the role
We're looking for a passionate, reliable Casual Cook/Kitchen Assistant to join our busy café team this summer Help fuel adventurers' days by preparing and serving delicious meals and snacks in our scenic forest café. This is a casual position for the peak summer period, working 4 days per week in a fun, fast-paced hospitality environment surrounded by Tasmania's beautiful wilderness.
What you'll be doing
* Preparing and cooking a variety of tasty café meals, snacks, and function items using fresh local produce
* Keeping the kitchen spotless, organised, and up to the highest food safety & hygiene standards
* Assisting the Head Chef with daily prep, service, and basic menu support
* Delivering friendly, efficient customer service to our visitors
* Working closely with the hospitality team to create memorable experiences for everyone
What we're looking for
* Previous experience as a cook, kitchen hand, or similar role in hospitality/café (summer or seasonal experience is a bonus)
* Solid knowledge of food prep, basic cooking techniques, and presentation
* Strong focus on cleanliness, food safety, and hygiene
* Ability to thrive in a busy, high-energy summer environment
* Great customer service attitude and genuine enthusiasm for happy visitors
* Team player who can jump in and help wherever needed
