Expression of Interest
We are continuously seeking skilled and driven Diesel Fitters/Mechanics to join our team. This vital role contributes directly to the success of KRSP by ensuring the reliability of critical essential service infrastructure.
Key responsibilities of the role
Reporting to the Mechanical Supervisor, the role focuses on the maintenance of diesel power generation assets and involves:
* Scheduled maintenance on diesel generators within remote power stations.
* Preventative maintenance to minimise breakdowns and extend asset lifespan.
* Diagnosis and troubleshooting faults and failures, identifying and resolving issues efficiently.
* Responding to unplanned maintenance and repairs.
* Assistance with the servicing and maintenance of water, water treatment, and wastewater service assets.
Location and roster
Typical 18 days on / 12 days off roster. Flexibility with this roster cycle is required.
Drive-in/Drive-out (DIDO) from Broome to remote Kimberley communities. Kimberley residents are strongly encouraged to apply. Fly-in/Fly-out (FIFO) options are available for those residing outside the region.
What you will need
Strong work ethic, integrity, a positive mindset, and adherence to safe work practices.
* Mechanical trade qualification (Diesel Fitter) preferred, or considerable experience as an Automotive Mechanic.
* Minimum 3 years post-trade experience with advanced fault-finding and diagnostic ability.
* Current Light, Medium or Heavy Rigid (LR/MR/HR) Driver's licence.
* Capacity to work in remote locations, including driving on unsealed roads.
* Effective communication and the ability to work both unsupervised and as part of a small team.
* Desirable: First Aid certification, including CPR and LVR.
