Salary: $140,000 plus superannuation Tasks: ? Analyse user requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
? Analyse user requirements, design, develop, test and implement scalable software and data applications on-premises and in the cloud. Familiar with using Python, Java, SQL, Spark, Hadoop, Hive, Kafka, and related frameworks ? Write and maintain clean, productive, and well-documented code.
? Develop and maintain APIs and integrations with third-party applications and services. ? Build, optimise, and maintain database structures using SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or MySQL. ? Collaborate with Business Analysts and stakeholders to ensure solutions meet functional and performance requirements.
? Conduct unit testing and participate in system/integration testing. ? Support ongoing maintenance, debugging, and enhancement of existing systems. ? Prepare technical documentation, including system designs, data flows, and user manuals.
? Monitor application performance and suggest improvements for scalability and performance. ? Develop automated testing scripts and conduct system regression testing to ensure code quality. ? Design and integrate analytics and reporting solutions using Power BI, Tableau, and custom visualisation tools to support business decision-making.
Skills and Experience Required: ? Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field. ? More than two years of experience in data engineering or a similar role.
? Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, SQL ? Exposure with ETL tools like Snowflake, Databricks and Informatica is an advantage ? Basic understanding of big data technologies such as Spark
? Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS/Azure. ? Solid understanding of database systems and SQL. ? Experience with data warehousing solutions such as Snowflake and Redshift
? Exposure to reporting tools like Power BI, Tableau and Looker ? Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. ? Work in other office location if required
? Knowledge of data governance and data quality best practices experience with large amounts of Customer data in Financial Services or related field is an advantage ? Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross functional team environment ? Experience of maintaining technical documentation for various stakeholders from internal users to end users.
