The Arts, Heritage and Libraries Branch enrich the lives of residents and visitors through vibrant library services, creative programs, and cultural and heritage experiences. The Branch plays a vital role in building strong, connected communities by supporting lifelong learning, creativity, inclusion and access to information. Working collaboratively across disciplines, the team delivers innovative programs that reflect community needs while contributing to Council's vision of Australia's most sustainable region.
As Team Leader Library Programs & Audience Engagement, you will provide strategic leadership to deliver a high‐quality, inclusive suite of library programs and engagement initiatives across the region. This role is pivotal in shaping how communities experience and connect with library services—combining people leadership, program innovation and audience insight to drive participation, relevance and impact. It's an exciting opportunity to lead talented teams and influence the future direction of contemporary library services.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and support cross‐service teams delivering specialist library programs
* Provide operational supervision, planning, review and budget management
* Develop and deliver an annual, inclusive library program calendar
* Drive continuous improvement of core and signature library programs
* Lead strategic planning for lifelong learning, digital literacy and makerspaces
* Identify opportunities for grants and value‐added service income
* Lead library promotional and marketing planning aligned to strategic outcomes
* Provide strategic leadership in audience engagement and communications
* Establish community consultation and feedback mechanisms
* Contribute to senior leadership planning and branch‐wide collaboration
