About The Role And Team
We have a new opportunity for a Legal Assistant to join our Statutory Insurance NSW/ACT – Workers' Compensation (recoveries) team based in our Sydney office. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking for a career in a law firm and to be a part of a collaborative team.
Responsibilities
* General file maintenance including regular electronic filing, opening and closing files
* Answering telephone calls for the team including attending to basic enquiries
* Drafting and filing of court documents across multiple common law jurisdictions
* Liaising with Counsel and compiling of briefs
* Managing lawyers' diaries in busy litigated practice
* Coordinating all outgoing correspondence
* Providing support to other legal assistants
* Maintaining Partners/lawyers' contacts in our firm CRM InterAction, including assisting with list management on their behalf for events and communications
* Other administration duties as required
About You
* Minimum three years legal assistant experience
* Experience in a workers' compensation or general personal injury practice is desirable; applicants from either a Plaintiff or Defendant background are encouraged to apply
* Highly organised
* Strong attention to detail
* Excellent communication skills
* Ability to prioritise and perform to deadlines
* Reliable, punctual, flexible and able to demonstrate initiative
