Responsibilities
* Meet with clients to discuss tiling needs and measure the area for tiling to establish stock requirements
* Provide clients with detailed quotations for jobs and order stock supplies, tiling equipment, etc.
* Examine blueprints, measure and mark surfaces to be covered and lay out work
* Mix, apply and plaster, concrete, mortar, cement, mastic, glue or other adhesives to form a bed for the tiles, using brush, towel and screed
* Cut and shape tile with tile cutters and biters and ensure to fit around obstacles and into odd spaces and corners
* Create decorative wall, mural and floor designs
* Wash surfaces with appropriate solutions before installing/mounting tile to increase adhesive quality of surfaces
* Scribe and cut edges of tile to fit wall where wall moulding was not specified
* Install tiles in various spaces in the house or office area such as kitchen, bath, main floor and any other required area according to blueprints and specifications using appropriate adhesives, spacers and grout
* Install glass, ceramic, porcelain, and natural stone flooring
* Perfectly level the concrete and let it dry and remove or repair damaged tiles
* Finish and dress the joints and wipe excess grout from between tiles, using a damp sponge
* Apply a sealer to make grout stain‑ and water‑resistant
* Measure and cut metal lath to size for walls and ceilings, using tin snips
Skills and Experience
* Fully qualified holding relevant AQF certification
* At least one year proven experience as a Tiler
* Creative and proficient approach from start to end of projects
This position is full‑time (38 hours per week, minimum). Salary range is $70,000 ‑ $80,000 plus superannuation. To apply, submit your resume with detailed skills and experience.
