About Cleaning Services 

The NSW Government’s reforms to public sector cleaning services entail the NSW Department of Education taking over management of the state’s Whole-of-Government cleaning contracts from January 1, 2026. A team has been established to deliver an enhanced Whole-of-Government cleaning contract for alignment and delivery of all program streams. Including Governance, ITD, Recruitment and Risk Management.    

About the role

As a Cleaning Services Support Officer, you’ll play a central role in supporting the digital systems that keep NSW’s contracted cleaning services operating efficiently and compliantly. You’ll maintain key platforms used for performance monitoring, inspections, reporting, and workforce scheduling, while providing timely technical support to staff and contractors across the state. The role also delivers essential operational support, including coordinating fleet vehicles, managing travel for Service Managers, and overseeing a busy service inbox. About You

You are a driven professional who thrives in environments where accuracy, digital capability, and strong communication are essential. You bring confidence in navigating and maintaining digital systems, a customer focused approach to resolving issues, and a proactive mindset when supporting a geographically dispersed workforce. Your ability to balance routine system administration with urgent operational demands—such as incident responses, compliance reporting, and Service Manager support—makes you a reliable and valued contributor to high quality service delivery. You take pride in maintaining data integrity, supporting system users with varying levels of digital confidence, and keeping workflows running smoothly in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate will have:

* Strong organisational and analytical skills, with the ability to maintain accurate system records, interpret data, and support effective reporting across multiple regions.

* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, enabling productive relationships with staff, contractors, managers, and external vendors.

* Confidence in providing technical support, coordinating system maintenance, and contributing to system upgrades, testing, and continuous improvement activities.

* A practical understanding of digital system administration, compliance requirements, and operational processes that support service delivery.

* A commitment to professionalism, confidentiality, and consistent application of procedures to ensure high quality, compliant, and efficient service delivery.

Key Knowledge and Experience

* Experience in systems administration, ICT operations, technical support, or administrative support for Service Managers or similar roles within a customer focused environment. 

* Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department’s Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department’s Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.

Essential requirements of the role

* Current and valid Working with Children Check Clearance for paid employment.

* Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.
