Kempe Engineering, a leader in fabrication, machining, hydraulics, and site services is seeking suitable trades to join our Workshop and Site Services team in George Town. These are full-time positions supporting site-based and workshop projects across Tasmania’s industrial and resources sectors.
About the Role
You will work as part of a skilled services team, undertaking mechanical and fabrication work either on client sites or in the workshop. Projects range from small-scale maintenance tasks to major shutdowns, installation upgrades and fabrication.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out structural steel and mechanical fabrication, welding and modifications.
Perform shutdown works, including repair and replacement of plant and equipment.
Ensure compliance with welding procedures, QA checks and site safety standards.
Perform mechanical fitting, assembly and installation of machinery and plant equipment.
Undertake preventative and breakdown maintenance on site.
Participate in site visits, toolbox talks and safety inductions
Maintain high standards of safety, quality and workmanship
Work collaboratively with Kempe supervisors, clients and subcontractors.
Skills & Experience
Proven experience in heavy industry, shutdowns, site services and Fabrication.
Ability to interpret drawings, scopes and specifications.
Strong commitment to safety and teamwork.
Current drivers licence; additional tickets (EWP, forklift, confined space, working at heights) highly regarded.
Flexibility to travel for site-based projects across Tasmania.
