Your new role
As an IT Systems Administrator, you'll play a key role in managing and maintaining the company's data centre infrastructure. This includes overseeing servers, storage systems, network equipment, and ensuring system performance, security, and compliance. This is a 12-month fixed-term contract based in Brisbane.
Some of your day-to-day duties will include:
* Monitoring system performance and ensuring optimal operation
* Implementing and maintaining security measures to safeguard data and ensure compliance
* Developing and maintaining documentation, policies, and procedures related to data centre operations and IT infrastructure
* Providing occasional end-user support, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and assisting with system configurations/setups
* Maintenance backups and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and business continuity
What you'll need to succeed
To excel in this role, you'll need proven experience in enterprise-level data centre operations. You will ideally have a security clearance or have the ability to obtain one. You must be ITAR compliant.
Your key competencies will include:
* Strong knowledge of virtualisation technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) and operating systems (e.g., Windows, Linux, Mac)
* Familiarity with network infrastructure design, configuration, and troubleshooting, including TCP/IP, VLANS, routing, and switching
* Experience with data centre technologies such as SAN/NAS storage, blade servers, data replication
* Security-focused mindset and familiar with firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and endpoint protection
* Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
* Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CCNA, MCSA) are highly regarded
