Hours of Work
Monday – Friday (40 hours per week)
Role
Reporting directly to the Transport Manager and will be responsible for facilitating a first-class level of customer service to all internal and external customers. You will have accountability for maintaining professional relationships, supporting the Transport division by delivering products to customers across the UK in a timely and efficient manner. You will also be required at times to load vehicles when necessary and assist in unloading our products at customer's premises. This Role will include minimum of 2 to 3 nights out per week.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
* You will ensure vehicle checks are completed each day before the vehicle is driven, and all legal documents are handed into the transport office
* To ensure the security of the Company vehicle at all times
* To operate within the law and to raise any vehicle maintenance concerns immediately with the Transport Manager
* To work as part of a team and be a last point of contact for customers, providing Our products 'On Time In Full' (OTIF)
* Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety and Company policy and procedures and to report any accidents of near misses to your line manager immediately
* Be prepared to drive long distances with regular overnight stays
* Be prepared to drive a range of vehicles and flexible within the parameters of your role, in training and development in accordance to the needs of the business.
* You will be driving sprinters around our 5 sites then covering Class 2 Drivers in their vehicles whilst drivers are on Annual Leave.
* Must have a flexible attitude to cover the role and perform within the business.
* This role occasionally requires lifting weights of up to 25kg
* Digital tachographs are used and drivers must be fully acquainted with the relevant legislation as set out in Senior Traffic Commissioners Statutory Document No.6 Vocational Drivers Section 45 Conduct and Fitness
Experience and Skills
* A good standard of literacy and numeracy in order to fulfil the role
* CE Driving licence, DQC, Driver card
* Good Geographical knowledge of the UK
* Good customer communication when on site
