**Some of your responsibilities will include**: - Manage the development, implementation and maintenance of legislation and operational policy to support efficient and effective transport industry accreditation and authorisation schemes in Queensland, including the identification and development of opportunities to reduce red tape, improve and streamline current legislation, systems and processes. Provide high-level policy advice to the Minister, the Director-General, senior departmental executives and industry on specific transport industry accreditation and authorisation scheme issues which may have significant political and business impacts. Develop and maintain effective networks, consult and negotiate with internal and external clients, industry groups, and other government agencies (federal, state and local), the general public and other stakeholders. Manage and/or coordinate the resources of a work or project team to ensure that business outcomes, performance indicators, project deliverables and deadlines are achieved. Promote and ensure compliance of work or project team(s) with public sector legislation, standards, policies, practices and procedures relating to human, financial and physical resources.
Requirements of the role
- Proven ability to manage a complex program of work to achieve desired outcomes. Strong written and verbal communication, including the provision of reports, briefing notes, options papers and presentations to senior management and other key stakeholders. Experience in leading and developing high performing teams. Ability to assist the team to adapt to a changing environment by influencing others and communicating the positive side of change. Critically analyse and consider complex information to support a culture of continuous improvement and make recommendations for accreditation scheme reform.
