ABOUT THE ROLE:
We are seeking an experienced Venue Activation Supervisor to lead frontline operations across two of regional Victoria's premier cultural facilities - Berninneit, Phillip Island and The Union, Wonthaggi.
Reporting to the Cultural Venue Coordinator, you will oversee the day-to-day delivery of theatre, cinema, touring productions, exhibitions and community hire across a seven-day operation. Leading the Venue Activation and Venue Experience teams, you will ensure professional service delivery, high-quality customer experiences and operational readiness.
Key responsibilities include:
* Leading and rostering frontline staff
* Overseeing bookings, event preparation and venue operations
* Acting as a senior contact for community and commercial hirers
* Supporting successful delivery of live events and performances
* Monitoring service standards and contributing to budgeting
* Ensuring compliance with safety, risk and emergency requirements
This role requires confident leadership, sound judgement and the ability to manage competing priorities in live environments. Evening and weekend work is required.
A BIT ABOUT YOU:
You are an experienced operational leader with a background in venue management, event delivery, hospitality or cultural facilities. You bring:
* Proven leadership in customer-facing environments
* Experience managing bookings, staffing and live events
* Understanding of venue safety and risk management
* Strong organisation skills, financial literacy and budget awareness
A relevant qualification or equivalent experience is required. A current driver's licence and the ability to obtain a Working with Children Check and First Aid certification are essential.
