Casual FIFO Midwife Position
We are seeking a qualified and experienced midwife to join our team in East Arnhem Land. As part of our dedicated healthcare teams, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality antenatal and postnatal care to clients across remote communities.
About the Role
As a casual FIFO midwife, you will work closely with the Aboriginal Health workforce in the Maternal and Women's Health Program to provide holistic, community-centered care. You will have the opportunity to build relationships and trust with Yolŋu communities, learn from and collaborate with Indigenous leaders and traditional healers, and experience a deep connection to culture and environment while contributing to sustainable health outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver high-quality antenatal and postnatal care to clients across remote communities.
* Work collaboratively with the Aboriginal Health workforce to develop and implement culturally sensitive healthcare programs.
* Build relationships and trust with Yolŋu communities through regular visits and outreach activities.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* A current Registration and Practicing Certificate as Registered Nurse and/or Midwife through AHPRA.
* 5 years' experience working in Maternal and Child Health.
* A current Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate.
* Midwifery Upskilling (MIDUS) certificate and/or ALSO certificate.
* A current accredited immunisation certificate (recognised in the NT).
* Accredited Well Women's Health Course (or equivalent).
* A Remote Pharmacotherapeutic Certificate (or equivalent).
* Manual driver's license.
