The Opportunity
We are seeking a Senior Defence Industry Security Program (DISP) Coordinator to play a vital role in maintaining Monash University's compliance with Defence security requirements.
This position will manage DISP membership activities, implementing security procedures and compliance measures aligned with the Defence Security Protective Framework (DSPF) and Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF). Working closely with the DISP Lead, the role will also contribute to strategic planning to meet current and future DISP obligations.
The Senior DISP Coordinator will manage the security clearance process for Monash staff and researchers, driving process improvements and guiding individuals through clearance requirements. This role will also develop and coordinate training materials in collaboration with staff, students and external consultants to enhance understanding of DISP compliance.
With a strong focus on continuous review and improvement, the position will oversee compliance measures, report on process efficiency and implement security risk mitigations. Additionally, it will support research activities related to Defence reporting, data analysis and briefing requirements for staff and students holding security clearances.
This role requires a postgraduate qualification in International Security, International Relations, Criminology or a related field, along with experience in a physical or cyber security setting. Alternatively, extensive experience in DISP management within a research setting, Defence department or national security agency will also be highly regarded.
The ideal candidate will have strong operational management skills and expertise in security policy frameworks including PSPF, DSPF and ISM, as well as a thorough understanding of DISP classification levels, ICT security obligations and cyber security frameworks.
