We are currently assisting a large Local Government based South of Perth in their search for an
**Internal Audit Officer.**
- Providing administrative support to the Manager Internal Audit.
- Conducting internal audits as directed and supervised by the Manager Internal Audit.
- Providing administrative and executive support to the Audit Committee, when required.
- Undertaking analysis of financial and non-financial data including evaluation of results.
- Formulating recommendations for improvements to systems and procedures following audits.
- Conducting discussions relating to proposed audit findings and/or improvements opportunities and agree recommendations for system or organisational changes.
- Preparing audit findings and agree recommendations for system or organisational changes.
- Following up agreed management actions to ensure that actions are appropriately implemented to lower/mitigate risks identified in an effort to further improve systems and controls.
**Requirements of the Job**
**Skills and Knowledge**
- Sound written and verbal communication skills.
- Developed numeracy skills.
- Sound interpersonal and public relations skills.
- Developed knowledge of Microsoft Office.
**Experience**
- Previous experience at a junior / graduate program level in a public sector organisation or auditing / internal audit firm, whilst not essential, would be well regarded.
**Qualifications**
- Minimum bachelor degree qualifications in commerce, finance or other business related disciplines. The successful applicant will be required to complete the necessary post graduate and or continuing professional development programs to achieve memberships of the Institute of Internal Auditors Australia and / or CPA Australia or the Institute of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CA).
