Reporting to the Mechanical Trade Manager, you will be employed on a permanent full time basis, based at Osborne, Adelaide.We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, including working a 9-day fortnight.BAE Systems Maritime Australia (formerly known as ASC Shipbuilding), has been contracted to design and deliver the world's most advanced anti-submarine warfare frigates to the Royal Australian Navy. The Hunter Class Frigate Program (HCFP) will create and sustain more than 5,000 jobs across BAE Systems and the wider Australian Defence supply chain over the life of the program.Key responsibilities include:Contribute to the trade training activities, support developing a qualified and experienced trades workforce, meeting current and future program objectivesDevelop and deliver trade training and workplace inductions, using contemporary learning and assessment strategies, while adapting to different learning stylesGuide, develop and mentor the trades workforce in best practice within a shipbuilding environmentCollaborate effectively to develop and maintain good relationships with internal stakeholders, external stakeholders and industry partners to maintain a positive cultureDevelop the training and assessment materials related to the task activitiesPerform technical training analysis, design, development and implementation activitiesAssess and monitor learner progress and performance in line with business requirements and trade frameworks/standardsProvide information and advice on trade training and assessment servicesProvide reporting on the evaluation of learner performance, and provide ongoing validation of training programsMaintain a high level of confidentiality to safeguard and protect sensitive informationAbout YOUExtensive Defence Maritime Shipbuilding technical trade/production experienceNACE 2 Qualification or equivalentKnowledge and experience with various steel surface preparation methodsGood computer skills and experience using the Microsoft Office SuiteExperience or extensive knowledge in chemical composites, two pack component painting, mixing and two pack component chemical application processes to substratesGood communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and support technical workforce learners and collaborate with a broad range of stakeholdersSelf-starter, a continuous improvement mindset, and a solutions focused approachWhilst not essential, Training/instructor experience with Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116 or equivalent), will be highly regardedWe believe in hiring for potential, we know that some candidates hesitate if they don't tick all the boxes.
