Are you a skilled communicator with a passion for community engagement? A federal government agency is seeking an APS5 Co-Design and Engagement Officer to support stakeholder engagement initiatives and improve participant experiences.
About the Role:
Based in Geelong, this 12-month assignment offers the opportunity to work as part of a dynamic team, engaging with individuals with disabilities, their families, carers, and community stakeholders. You'll play a key role in event coordination, stakeholder communication, and supporting engagement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
* Educate, inform, and collaborate with mainstream services to improve participant experiences.
* Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to support effective engagement.
* Represent the agency at external forums and events, providing information to participants and the wider community.
* Support planning, coordination, and delivery of face-to-face, virtual, and hybrid events, ensuring accessibility requirements are met.
* Draft accessible engagement plans, reports, and key documents for presentations and consultations.
* Track, monitor, and report on meetings and events.
* Manage shared inbox enquiries, allocating and providing timely responses.
* Take meeting notes and draft summaries to support team operations.
* Provide technical and administrative support for virtual, hybrid, and in-person meetings.
Key Skills Required:
* Proficiency in PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, and Excel.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills.
* Ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
* A calm and cheerful approach in a fast-paced environment.
* Experience in meeting notes, drafting summaries, and document preparation.
* Strong event coordination skills, from planning to post-event evaluation.
* Experience working with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
Desirable Skills:
* Experience working in government.
* Procurement experience.
* Coordinating meetings, workshops, and schedules.
* Managing budgets and payments.
