Job Overview
The Community Engagement team is developing its capabilities to enhance public safety and effective risk management. We aim to build resilience within Australian communities and across the Bureau.
We work with partners to equip, mobilise, and integrate communities in preparation for, response to, and recovery from disasters and emergencies.
Our programme seeks to strengthen sector-wide capability across agencies through knowledge sharing, collaborative action, and the development of strong relationships built on mutual trust and respect.
Your Role
As a Community Engagement Officer, you will contribute to community engagement planning, research, analysis, reporting, and implementation activities.
You will support the development and delivery of national initiatives focusing on engaging the public on emergency management capability.
You will collaborate with colleagues in Hazard Preparedness and Response to understand the impact of severe weather events on the Australian community and our customers.
