An exciting opportunity exists to join Community Child, Youth and Family Services as an Early Intervention Specialist. This role provides specialist parenting clinical services and leadership in early intervention and parenting programs. Delivering evidence-based services at a senior level, the position includes assessment, treatment planning, therapeutic intervention and evaluation, working collaboratively with government and non-government agencies to support children and families.
About us:
The Community Child Youth and Family Health (CYFH) team provides culturally appropriate universal and targeted services to families within the Cairns HHS area. These services are delivered in partnership by a multidisciplinary team consisting of nurses, social workers, psychologists, speech pathologist, indigenous health workers and administration officers. Programs include maternal and infant health, child health, youth health and parental support.
The CYFH Team's primary focus is:
* To deliver accessible evidence-based health services in partnership with children, young people and families by a multidisciplinary team working within an integrated framework.
* To offer a range of services that reflect our local indigenous and culturally and linguistically diverse population, including refugees.
* To provide universal and targeted programs for families, encompassing maternal and infant health, child health, youth health, and parental support.
* To enable children, youth and families to achieve better health outcomes by empowering our community through health promotion, health education and support.
* To maintain a dynamic, proactive and responsive team by encouraging and supporting staff to pursue professional development to enhance skills and capacity.
* To establish and maintain effective partnership with both government and non-government agencies to achieve optimum individual and community Health outcomes.

About your role:
* Provide effective and efficient clinical care in the area of Child and Family Health by applying advanced knowledge and skills in the areas of early intervention and prevention within a variety of settings including centre based and home visiting to ensure the maintenance of safe standards in client care.
* Develop and deliver specialised early intervention and parenting consultancy and clinical services targeting complex issues such as maternal mood disorder/postnatal adjustment and infant mental health/attachment.
* Manage a complex caseload using evidence-based interventions (1-1 interventions, group programs and education sessions) whilst maintaining high level clinical documentation and report writing skills to meet the requirements of Queensland Health and best practice guidelines.
