As a public hospital with clinical services provided by Peninsula Health, this facility will play a key role in supporting the community be part of something bigger and help shape the future of healthcare in Victoria.Role ResponsibilitiesClean patient rooms, theatres, offices, restrooms, and public areas to maintain high hygiene standardsClean patient rooms post-discharge.Use approved disinfectants, sanitise high-touch surfaces, and follow infection control protocolsPerform deep cleans in high-risk areas and handle biohazardous waste safelySafely operate specialised cleaning equipment such as floor scrubbers and carpet cleaners.Operate, maintain, and check cleaning equipment and report faults or hazardsSafely segregate and dispose of general and hazardous wasteMonitor and replenish cleaning supplies; maintain accurate inventory recordsFollow all OH&S; and hospital safety protocols, using PPE as requiredCollaborate with staff, attend training, and assist with onboarding of new cleanersMaintain professional conduct and support continuous improvement in cleaning standardsExperience and QualificationsPrevious experience in commercial or healthcare cleaning is preferredKnowledge of safe chemical handling and cleaning practicesUnderstanding of infection prevention and control proceduresValid Police Check and Working with Children Check (employee version), or willingness to obtain.Ability to utilise smart devices daily to manage and monitor daily cleaning task in roleCovid Vaccination x 3 and up to date Flu vaccinationsSerology requirements signed off by GPCompetency RequirementsCustomer service orientated and attention to detailSelf-directed and working as part of a teamCapacity to resolve conflicts and negotiate with othersFollow instructions and take directionUnderstand and follow hospital infection control protocols and adhere to workplace safety regulations and use cleaning chemicals and equipment correctly.THE BENEFITSMultiple salary packaging options to make your dollar go furtherOpportunity to learn new skills and move to different internal rolesAbove award wages12 weeks of paid parental leave for primary carersPersonal and site-based recognition programsImmediate access to 100+ retail discounts accessible from your mobile
