Position Overview

The C4I Engineer - is responsible providing specialist command, control, communications, computers and intelligence (C4I) engineering expertise across HDA's business units. The C4i Engineer ensures that C4i activities are planned, resourced and executed to meet the objectives of HDA's business units. This role may also support systems-security engineering.


Primary Duties & Responsibilities

* Perform complex engineering activities for the programs Electronic Architecture (EA), particularly HDA's implementation of AS GVA and AS LDM.
* Perform complex engineering activities in the field of systems-security engineering.
* Provide technical input to the management and scheduling of technical activities
* Undertake systems engineering activities including requirements analysis and management, system safety, configuration audits, verification and validation activities.
* Assist in the development, preparation and on-time delivery of all Engineering DIDs and supporting activities.
* Evaluation of delivered materiel against customer requirements and legislative, policy and regulatory frameworks, provide recommendations and contribute to the implementation of actions.
* Support risk analysis to ensure that key risks are identified, monitored and mitigated.
* Monitor and ensure safety aspects of the system solution are considered and incorporated into engineering activities.
* Work as part of the engineering and broader Hanwha team to deliver quality engineering outcomes.
* Build and sustain positive relationships with team members, actively participate in teamwork and motivate and mentor developing engineers
* Work with all contributing parties, including our subcontractors, to ensure the quality of all deliverables and exchanges with the customer are exceptional.
* Tailor communication style and language to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
* providing input into the management of the Systems Integration Laboratory (SIL)
* Other duties as required by the supervisor.


Qualifications

Mandatory:

* Tertiary qualifications in Engineering or Science discipline.
* Qualifications Electrical.
* Meets Engineers Australia criteria for Chartered Professional Engineer.


Experience

* Professional experience in electronics, electrical, communications, software, C4I and/or Systems Integration activities, desirable in the defence industry delivering complex large-scale programs.
* Experience with Battle Management System (BMS)-C2, BMS-F and/or DTCS
* Experience with C4ISREW
* Knowledge with military standards and regulations related to vehicle development is desirable.


Skills / Capabilities

* Strong knowledge of Electrical principles, methodologies, and best practices.
* Proven ability to influence technical and project engineers. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills. Effective communication and collaboration abilities.
* Proven ability to effectively manage relationships and positively resolve disputes with internal/external stakeholders.
* Meticulous approach to work, with the ability to identify potential risks and issues proactively. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
* Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work under tight deadlines without compromising quality.
* Demonstrates strong verbal and written communication skills.
* Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills.
* Demonstrates adaptability and can be flexible to meet the needs of the organisation and other team members.
* Ability to be innovative and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
