Ironworker Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Ironworker to join our team on various construction projects.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation and fabrication of structural steel and metal components, ensuring adherence to safety standards and project specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
* Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine the layout of structures and metal fittings.
* Assist in the erecting and dismantling of scaffolding, shoring, and brackets for site safety and support.
* Fabricate and install structural steel frameworks, including beams, columns, and girders.
* Anchor steel members in position for securing by bolting, welding, or riveting.
* Ensure that all work performed is in compliance with local building codes and safety regulations.
* Inspect the work sites to ensure quality control and adherence to design specifications.
* Utilize various hand and power tools safely and effectively.
* Complete required documentation to report on work completed and materials used.
Qualifications and Requirements
* High school diploma or equivalent.
* Completion of an apprenticeship or relevant training program for Ironworkers.
* Minimum of 3 years of experience in steel erection and fabrication in a construction context.
* Familiarity with OSHA regulations and safety protocols related to ironworking.
* Ability to lift heavy objects and work in tight spaces or at high elevations.
* Strong mathematical skills to accurately measure and cut materials.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
* Ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors.
