The Opportunity
Reporting to the MDC Manager, you'll manage the day-to-day operations and workflow of the production team, ensuring high standards of quality and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee daily workshop operations, ensuring output, quality, and delivery standards are met
Lead, mentor and develop the production floor team
Drive a positive, collaborative workplace culture, supporting high staff satisfaction and retention
Conduct regular toolbox meetings and foster team engagement
Establish and monitor production schedules, manage Work-in-Progress (WIP), and coordinate job priorities
Maintain and optimise systems for scheduling, job tracking, and reporting
Expertly manage inventory and stores, holding weekly supply/production meetings, forecasting, and minimising waste
Ensure complete occupational health & safety compliance (OHS, SWP, SOP); report and action all incidents
Liaise cross-functionally with Supply Chain, Logistics, Warehouse, Employee Relations, and States Managers
Skills & Experience – What You Bring
3–5 years' experience in Production/Workshop Management (automotive/manufacturing industry preferred)
Demonstrated people management, workflow, and training skills in an operational environment
Proven ability to manage deadlines and deliver under pressure
Advanced inventory, scheduling, and cost control acumen
Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems (ideally MYOB Acumatica), project/task software (ClickUp) & Microsoft 365 suite
Thorough understanding of workshop safety, incident reporting and compliance requirements
High attention to detail, strong problem-solving abilities, and excellent interpersonal communication skills
Formal qualifications in Workshop/Production Management or similar
