Senior UX Designer (Contract)
Location: [Sydney, NSW / hybrid / remote]
Contract: Initial 6 months (strong likelihood of extension)

The Role
We are looking for an experienced Senior UX Designer to join a high-impact customer-facing transformation programme. This role focuses on the migration of a Cards Hub covering both credit and debit cards, moving all functionality from an existing platform to a new target platform.
This is a complex, fast-paced piece of work where customer experience is critical. You will help ensure that business deadlines are met without compromising usability, clarity, or trust for customers.
What You'll Be Working On
* Migrating end-to-end card functionality from Platform X to Platform Y
* Designing and optimising customer journeys within a mobile app, particularly around:
* Changing card details
* Managing card settings
* Improving flow, clarity, and ease of use
* Iterating designs based on:
* Customer feedback
* Input from bankers and internal stakeholders
* Technical constraints and opportunities
* Partnering closely with DevOps and engineering teams to:
* Engineer solutions
* Support testing and release
* Move features from design through to live production
Team & Programme Context
* You will join a programme already in flight:
* One Senior UX Designer has been on the programme for ~1 year
* There is at least another year of work remaining
* Some features are already live, some are in development, and others are yet to start
* Work will be split evenly:
* You will own 3 key features, while the existing designer owns another 3
What We're Looking For
* Proven experience as a Senior UX Designer on complex, customer-facing digital products
* Strong background in mobile app UX (ideally within financial services or other regulated environments)
* Comfortable working in fast-paced delivery environments with pressure to go live
* Strong advocate for the customer — able to push back when needed to protect the experience
* Highly collaborative, with experience working closely with:
* Engineers / DevOps
* Product owners
* Business and operational stakeholders
* Confident running design iteration cycles, validating solutions, and refining flows
