Pindara Private Hospital features 16 fully equipped operating theatres onsite, including specialised facilities like a cutting-edge hybrid theatre and two dedicated endoscopy suites. In addition to these main surgical theatres, the hospital manages two separate day surgery facilities: the Pindara Day Procedure Centre and the Short Street Day Surgery Unit. This extensive capacity supports a wide range of complex specialties, ranging from neurosurgery and cardiac intervention to colorectal and orthopaedic procedures.
About You
You will bring extensive clinical expertise and demonstrated experience in Scrub-Scout nursing within General Surgery as a Clinical Nurse. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality perioperative care across a broad range of general surgical procedures, while providing clinical leadership, mentorship, and support to the multidisciplinary team.
This role is ideally suited to an experienced perioperative nurse with strong Scrub-Scout capabilities who is ready to step into, or further develop within, a Clinical Nurse leadership position. Previous leadership or management experience within a perioperative setting will be highly regarded.
This is a permanent role.
Essential Criteria
* Minimum five (5) years’ post-graduate clinical experience in perioperative nursing, with substantial experience in Scrub-Scout roles within General Surgery
* Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse
* Demonstrated advanced clinical knowledge and competence across a broad range of general surgical procedures
* Proven ability to provide clinical leadership, guidance, and support within the operating theatre environment
* Passion for mentoring and developing staff, including graduate and junior nurses
* Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced perioperative environment
* Demonstrated commitment to patient safety, quality improvement, and professional standards of practice
* Proven ability to consistently act as a positive role model and uphold professional conduct
* Postgraduate qualification(s) in Perioperative Nursing or a related specialty (highly regarded)
* Availability to work a minimum of 70 hours per fortnight
