Health and Safety Coordinator
We are partnering with a leading mining operation seeking a passionate and proactive Health and Safety Coordinator to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a key role within a high-performing Health, Safety and Training team, contributing to a strong safety culture and continuous improvement across the site.
About the Role
Reporting to the Health, Safety and Training Manager, you will support the implementation, maintenance, and improvement of health and safety systems, procedures, and policies. You'll play a central role in ensuring compliance with legislation and company requirements while driving initiatives that strengthen the site's safety performance.
This position is permanent, full time, and offers competitive remuneration, performance incentives, and opportunities for ongoing development.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop, implement and maintain Health and Safety systems aligned with legal and internal standards
* Support incident investigations, reporting and record keeping, ensuring compliance with statutory obligations
* Provide training, advice, and coaching to employees to ensure safe work practices across site
* Assist in risk management processes and contribute to safety improvement initiatives
* Develop and support Emergency Response and Crisis Management Plans, including training for Emergency Response Team members
* Promote a strong safety culture by driving awareness, engagement, and best practice
About You
* Minimum 3 years experience in a similar WHS role within mining or heavy industry
* Tertiary qualification in Workplace Health and Safety (or equivalent)
* Strong understanding of WHS legislation and incident investigation processes
* Proactive mindset with the ability to adapt to a fast paced and changing environment
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and support operational teams
* A collaborative team player with a commitment to achieving positive safety outcomes
