About the role
National Parks and Wildlife Service has a unique opportunity for two Administrative Assistants to job share and work as part of the Southern Ranges team that contributes towards the conservation of the natural environment, flora, fauna and Aboriginal heritage.
As an Administrative Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting a dynamic team committed to enhancing conservation values You will provide essential administrative and support services for the Park Use Fees team to keep operations running smoothly, all while delivering excellent customer service using a variety of technologies. You will be involved in a range of tasks, from managing financial transactions like creating purchase orders and processing invoices, to basic financial reporting, coordinating contractors, and handling roster and fleet management along with supporting the smooth running of the Jindabyne office. This is an opportunity to make a real impact in a fast-paced, purposeful environment
You will also assist the public with both verbal and written enquiries including park or amenity closures, licenses, injured wildlife, and take payments using a PoS system.
About you
To be successful in the role, you will have:
Experience managing competing demands and maintaining high attention to detail to ensure administrative support is provided in a timely and efficient manner.
Strong ability to communicate effectively (both written and verbal) and collaborate with office and field colleagues, senior managers, maintenance contractors, the general public, and other government organisations.
Proven experience in delivering high-quality customer service, responding to a wide range of enquiries, assessing incoming tasks, and adjusting priorities as needed.
Experience in general administrative tasks, including ordering and purchasing, filing, managing mail and correspondence.
Willingness to support incident management teams during high-pressure situations, such as bushfires.
Ability to learn and effectively use multiple software systems, including Office 365, MS Teams, Content Manager, SAP, MyWorkZone, and finance software.
Experience in administration including the use of computer-based systems such as word processing, spreadsheet and records management and records management systems.
Knowledge of financial and human resource management procedures, policies and practices.
