Care Assistant Wanted For Older Adults Role
Our Home is seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to assist in the daily management of our care services. This key role involves assisting in the effective and efficient management of our facilities on a day-to-day basis, maintaining high standards of professional practice as required.
Responsibilities
1. Develop and implement personalized care plans for residents, ensuring their needs are met while promoting independence and dignity.
2. Evaluate and monitor care programs to ensure quality service delivery, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as necessary.
3. Assist residents with personal care tasks where needed, respecting their privacy and autonomy.
4. Foster an active and independent lifestyle for residents, encouraging participation in daily activities and creative pursuits.
5. Accompany residents on outings, such as hospital visits or short walks, ensuring their comfort and well-being.
6. Administer medications according to established protocols and maintain accurate records.
7. Organize and supervise daily activities, including recreational and creative programs, ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment for all residents.
8. Maintain a vigilant approach to resident, staff, and visitor safety and well-being at all times.
9. Provide staff supervision as directed by senior management, promoting a culture of excellence and accountability.
10. Promote teamwork and leadership skills, contributing to a positive and supportive work environment.
11. Participate in QCF Assessments as directed, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
12. Ensure seamless communication between staff members through effective handovers and information sharing.
13. Lead or assist with daily prayers and spiritual activities, respecting the religious preferences of residents.
14. Maintain adherence to rules, regulations, and reporting mechanisms, upholding good practice and promoting a quality agenda.
15. Support staff development and training initiatives, ensuring ongoing professional growth and compliance with industry standards.
Requirements
* NVQ/QCF level 3 in Health & Social Care or willingness to attain within two years.
* Awareness and understanding of Adult Safeguarding policy and procedures.
* Proficient IT skills, including Microsoft Word, email, and electronic recording systems.
* Minimum two years' experience caring for older adults, individuals with disabilities, or those with mental health needs.
* Willingness to achieve medication administration competency within four weeks of employment.
* Flexibility to work varied hours, including weekends, with potential overtime beyond standard shift patterns.
* Maintenance of registration on the Northern Ireland Social Care Council register.
* Commitment to upholding the Christian ethos of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland.
