The NSW Government wants walking and bike riding, known as active transport, to be the preferred way to make short trips and a viable, safe and efficient option for longer trips. We estimate that more than 1.5 billion walking and bike riding trips are taken per year across New South Wales. We want to double this number in 20 years.

**The Opportunity**
As a result of an internal transfer and promotion, the Strategy, Planning and Integration team within Active Transport has an exciting permanent opportunity for the role of **Manager Active Transport Strategy**.
The role is a fantastic opportunity to work in multi-disciplinary, matrixed teams contributing to the Future Transport Strategy along with the delivery of actions set out in the recently released Active Transport Strategy with inputs into:
- Long-term, state-wide strategic planning and policy reform
- Place-based planning
- Integrated network planning and corridor identification
- Major projects
Key accountabilities of the position include:
- Assist with leading the strategic direction for walking and cycling in New South Wales to deliver on the Future Transport Strategy and actions outlined in the Active Transport Strategy.
- Support the establishment of planning, funding and delivery of walking and cycling infrastructure framework that aligns with the NSW Government's strategic direction, customer and community needs.
- Oversee the development of guidelines, processes and procedures to help evaluate walking and cycling investment programs as well as projects with walking and cycling components to ensure alignment and support NSW Government priorities through collaboration with a range of stakeholders.
- Manage Active Transport's inputs into high-profile initiatives to help ensure and integrate desired walking and cycling outcomes form part of land use and transport infrastructure projects.
