The Role
As the Night Manager (NM), you will be responsible for the hotel operation during night shift, maintaining hotel security and driving guest experience. In conjunction with this, you are the hotel Finance & Business Support representative and have various financial responsibilities to Holiday Inn Express. You will support in establishing quality and guest service standards, and drive hotel revenue and profit goals through a detailed auditing process of hotel revenue and expenses.
Assist the Director of Finance, General / Hotel Manager (GM/HM), Assistant Hotel Manager (AHM) and head office based Finance Assistant (FA) in ensuring all revenue, expenses and daily audit tasks have been completed without any bias and any discrepancies have been immediately followed up on.
Provide ad hoc financial analysis on hotel performance versus budget and forecast, by using knowledge of your day-to-day tasks & responsibilities as the key contributor to this analysis.
- Conduct the Night Audit process as per Night Manager/ Auditor's checklist.
- Tasks include but are not limited to correctly posting all hotel's revenue for the day, accurately identifying discrepancies, and producing a complete night audit report thoroughly and accurately.
- Balance accounts at the end of each day and post any outstanding charges to guests' accounts
- Balance cashier's accounts
- Ensure cash security procedures are adhered to
- Maintain efficient internal control procedures to assist in the prevention of theft or fraud
- Responsible for ensuring 100% compliance and follow up on:
- Accounts Payable from receiving of invoice to payments made to supplier, maintain Vendors
- Purchase Orders
About you
- Proven experience within a similar role or capacity
- Audit and accounting experience
- Ability to communicate effectively in spoken and written form
- Professional and personable, with a can do attitude.
- You're pre-equipped with sound judgement, even under pressure - you'll have a heap of responsibility right off the bat
- You make calm, collected decisions - even when the clock is ticking
- You will be required to hold or obtain a First Aid certificate and a NSW RSA Certificate
