The Opportunity

In this role, you’ll play a vital part in shaping the next generation of nutrition and dietetics professionals by supervising, training, assessing, and supporting students on professional placements. You’ll also manage clients attending our Nutrition and Dietetic clinics, collaborate with placement partners, professional bodies, and the community, and work closely with discipline staff to deliver high-quality learning experiences. Alongside contributing to teaching and clinical education, you’ll be actively involved in quality improvement initiatives and broader School and University activities. Based at UniSC’s Sippy Downs campus, this role offers the opportunity to combine clinical practice, education, and community engagement in a rewarding and impactful way.

About you:

As a passionate educator in nutrition and dietetics, you foster inclusive and engaging learning environments that empower students to thrive. With strong subject expertise, excellent communication, and a collaborative mindset, you design meaningful learning experiences that ignite curiosity and build confidence. Committed to student success, you continually refine your teaching, embrace innovative approaches, and contribute to a supportive and high-performing academic community.

You will possess:

- Completion or near-completion of a doctoral qualification in a relevant field or equivalent accreditation and standing or a minimum of ten years clinical experience as an accredited profession in the field of study;
- Evidence of Accredited Practising Dietitian status as recognised by Dietitians Australia;
- Effectiveness as a teacher, which is evidenced by:
- student feedback on clinical teaching and student supervision placement in various forms: including simulated placement, telehealth placement, external and internal placements using valid instrument/s, peer review and/or student outcomes, and
- the capacity to conceive, develop and deliver higher education curricula and contribute to relevant areas of teaching.

- Evidence of leadership of quality clinical education of undergraduate students in various forms: including simulated, telehealth, external and internal placements;
- Experience with managing the nutrition care process of individual clients/ patients;
- Membership of and sound connections with relevant professional bodies, community groups and/or
