Overview
Tyrrells have specialised in the renovation and restoration of monuments, plaques, crypts & vaults in cemeteries throughout Sydney and New South Wales for over 85 years. We are currently recruiting a skilled Building Construction Supervisor to join our team.
Responsibilities
1. Direct, plan and coordinate activities, oversee scheduling, organising and implementation of monuments, plaques, crypts & vaults in cemeteries throughout Sydney.
2. Oversee the planning, execution and completion of monuments, plaques, crypts & vaults construction projects
3. Supervises construction sites and organises and coordinates the material and human resources.
4. Interpreting plans, working drawings and specifications. Revise and edit as required, interpret regulations and codes of practice
5. Co-ordinates work programmes
6. Calculates costs and estimates time scales
7. Coordinate and manage trades, suppliers, and contractors to meet deadlines
8. Determine labour requirements, materials planning and logistics
9. Inspect work and materials for compliance with specifications, regulations and standards
10. Ensure all projects comply with building codes, safety standards, and company quality expectations
11. Conduct site inspections, problem-solve issues, and maintain high-quality control
12. Maintain solid communication with clients, contractors, and internal teams
13. Ensure budget and timelines are met while maintaining construction efficiency
14. Handle in office troubleshooting and issue resolution to keep projects on track
Qualifications
15. Diploma level or higher qualifications or extensive practical experience work experience in a similar role
16. Knowledge of the methods, materials and tools required for construction projects
17. Ability to interpret technical plans, blueprints and drawings
18. Knowledge of public safety and security policies, procedures and strategies
19. Solid communication, organisations and problem-solving skills
20. Attention to detail, critical thinking and math skills
21. Excellent leadership skills
