Position Overview:
As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a critical role in overseeing the financial accuracy of our projects, ensuring financial stability and driving strategic decision-making through precise forecasting. You will be responsible for technical cost planning, budgeting, and detailed analysis, providing insights and recommendations to support the company's growth, profitability, and project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
· Develop and implement cost management and cost planning strategies, financial policies, and standardized procedures for project delivery.
· Manage project accounts, cost control systems, and expenditure tracking from inception to completion.
· Maintenance of financial cost data, historical pricing records, and cost management procedures
· Analysis and interpretation of architectural and engineering drawings for use by Management in feasibility assessments.
· Prepare project business plans, cost forecasts, and comprehensive budgeting and financial analysis for upcoming developments.
· Assess and manage project variations, progress claims, and final cost accounts in collaboration with project stakeholders.
· Prepare Cost Performance and Variance Analysis Reports to present to the Group, highlighting deviations from original estimates and providing mitigation strategies.
· Monitoring financial performance against budget, analyzing and providing commentary on any variances specifically for property development accounts.
· Conducting, reviewing, and evaluating subcontractor tenders, corporate procurement proposals, and cost-benefit initiatives.
· Prepare financial modelling for project financing and corporate activities to assess financial risks and returns on investment.
· Review project-specific accounts and consolidate cost reports across the Group's portfolio.
· Liaise with quantity surveyors, contractors, and external auditors of the company regarding project valuations and costs.
· Ensure all project-related and financing matters are well documented and reported in accordance with statutory requirements, Limits of Authority, and Standard Operation Procedures.
· Ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting of project forecasts and Group-wide cost results.
· Ensure internal controls over procurement and budgeting are in accordance with statutory and company requirements at all times.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree in construction management, Quantity Surveying, Finance, or a related field preferred but not essential.
· Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, Cost Estimator, or a similar financial role within property development or construction.
· Strong knowledge of financial analysis, construction forecasting, and project budgeting.
· Proficiency in estimating software (such as RIB CostX or PlanSwift) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
· Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
· Strong communication skills and the ability to negotiate effectively with vendors and stakeholders.
· Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines for tender submissions.
· Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in financial calculations.
